What is ESSNCE?

ESSNCE is a free audio production studio for Android. It runs on any phone with Android 8.0 or higher. You can capture audio playing from any app on your phone, chop it into samples, program drum patterns, apply real-time effects, arrange everything on a timeline, and export finished tracks in FLAC, WAV, or MP3. The entire app is free — no subscriptions, no premium tier, no locked features.

Sample From Any App

Hear something on Spotify, YouTube, a voice note, wherever — grab it. System audio capture pulls sound straight from your phone. Plug in a USB mic for vocals. The sample is on your pad before the idea fades.

16 Pads That Feel Right

Velocity-sensitive and position-aware. Hit the bottom of the pad for a hard strike, brush the top for ghost notes. Zero latency. Finger-drum a full performance or just audition your chops.

Auto-Chop

Load a loop, hit chop. ESSNCE detects the transients and splits the sample across your pads automatically. Adjust sensitivity to get fewer thick slices or more granular hits. Rearrange and you've got a new pattern in seconds.

Pattern Generator

Pick a genre — boom-bap, trap, house, drill, lo-fi, reggaeton, afrobeats — and hit generate. You get a starting point with the right swing, tempo, and groove baked in. Tweak from there or roll the dice again.

Actual Sound Design

ADSR envelopes, three filter types, bit-crush, sample rate reduction, choke groups, note repeat. Per-pad. This isn't a toy with a volume knob and a reverb toggle. Shape the sound until it's yours.
