Chapter 6

Export

EDIT

Choose a format

ESSNCE exports in four formats. Each has a purpose.

FLAC Lossless. Full quality, nothing lost. Best for archiving or sending to a platform that accepts lossless.
WAV 24-bit Industry standard. Use this if someone asks for stems, or you're sending to a mixing engineer.
WAV 16-bit Slightly smaller. CD-quality. Still pristine.
MP3 320k Compressed but transparent. Use for sharing on social media, messaging, or SoundCloud.
When in doubt — export FLAC for keeping, MP3 for sharing.

Export the track

  1. Make sure nothing is selected on the timeline (tap empty space to deselect). This tells ESSNCE to export the full arrangement, not just one clip.
  2. Tap EXPORT in the transport bar.
  3. Choose your format.
  4. Tap export. The file lands in your downloads folder, named after your project.

You can also export a single clip or sample — from the EDIT screen by selecting one clip first, or from the SMPLR screen by long-pressing a pad and choosing export in the sound designer.

Done

Your track is exported. A real audio file on your device. You just made a complete piece of music from scratch, on your phone.
