When you first open ESSNCE, you land on the Gallery — your project browser. Here you can see all your saved projects, create a new one, or pick up where you left off. Tap NEW PROJECT, give it a name, and you're in.
The Gallery also lets you rename, duplicate, delete, and export your projects whenever you need.
Now that you have a project open, it's time to set the pace. Navigate to the DRUM screen — that's where tempo lives. The fastest way is tap tempo. Find the TAP button in the transport strip at the top of the screen and tap it rhythmically — eight taps is enough. ESSNCE averages those taps and sets your BPM.
You can also drag the BPM slider directly if you have a specific number in mind.
You have a project running at a tempo you chose. This BPM is shared across every screen — Sampler, Drum, Compose, and Editor all sync to it.
